About the Lab
Led by Prof. Elroy-Stein, the Lab of Translational Control in Health and Disease, seeks to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern protein synthesis under normal and stress conditions. It is one of numerous advanced laboratories at the Tel Aviv University, all working collaboratively to investigate the complexities of cellular functions. Elroy-Stein’s group integrates state-of-the-art research methodologies to study the neurodegenerative genetic Vanishing White Matter (VWM) disease, to design and develop novel therapies, and to study basic mechanisms that govern protein synthesis during the cell cycle.
Tel Aviv University houses Israel’s largest concentration of scientists and clinicians investigating all aspects of human health and disease, and is Israel’s largest and most comprehensive institution for higher learning. Tel Aviv is a capital of industry, innovation and youth culture where sunny beaches and the national high-tech hub are within walking distance of each other.
